Space to create

No judgment here.

We invite you to a safe space to explore.

Therapy is for everyone.

Congrats on taking the first step to finding insight into your thoughts, emotions, and body!

At Rainy Day Art Therapy, you are invited to explore difficult feelings in a safe environment. It is challenging when you are feeling sadness, loss, out of control thoughts, or when you are waking up in the middle of the night, not sleeping, or have increased stress pouring over from the work day.

This therapy space is for you.

Scribbling is good enough.

The art making process is not about showing your art to others or hanging it up on the wall - although, you are welcome to do these things! Making art in session allows both you to see the problem or the emotion more clearly. Art materials are used to create space for exploration. Making art can also be cathartic - giving you a chance to take the problem out and examine it.

Art does not need to be perfect. If all you can muster is a scribble for the day, that is good enough.

Why Rainy Day?

Therapy is about noticing, acknowledging, and releasing. Our bodies work with cycles, like waves, like flowers, or like rain. This requires movement, even the slowest form of movement. At Rainy Day, I invite and encourage you to move with your emotions. There are so many times when we want to shove what we are feeling to a place that is unseen. And so often those emotions pop back up when we are still.

Rainy Day is a metaphor for these moments. When you are still, your emotions will feel safe to move and release. Therapy becomes a practice of sitting and inviting some of the most challenging feelings to come forward.
